Justice shouldn't depend on a bank balance: Rabia's asylum application
Rabia needs $700 for filing fees and representation in an asylum application before the July deadline.

Rabia is facing an asylum application. The hearing is scheduled for July, and the filing fees and the lawyer's retainer come to $700. Three legal-aid offices have said their waiting lists are longer than the deadline.
Rabia has all the paperwork ready, and a caseworker at Gaziantep Welcome Centre has confirmed that the case is valid.
If the deadline is missed Rabia could lose the right to stay with the family and the job. The children were born here and this is the only home they know.
Funds cover only the filing fees, translations and attorney retainer.
Where the $700 goes:
• Filing and biometrics fees: $145
• Certified translations and document copies: $45
• Attorney retainer: $510

Hope it all works out. I hope things turn around soon. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. All the best.
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Rabia.
The list at the bottom is the whole picture. filing and biometrics fees is the biggest at $145. I'll keep the page updated.
