Justice shouldn't depend on a bank balance: Peyton's asylum application
Help Peyton cover the fees of an asylum application so She can stay with her family.
Anywhere in the world905 views
Peyton is facing an asylum application. The hearing is scheduled for March, and the filing fees and the lawyer's retainer come to $1,700. Three legal-aid offices have said their waiting lists are longer than the deadline.
Peyton has all the paperwork ready, and a caseworker at the Anaheim Community Legal Centre has confirmed that the case is valid.
If the deadline is missed Peyton could lose the right to stay with the family and the job. The children were born here and this is the only home they know.
Funds cover only the filing fees, translations and attorney retainer.
Where the $1,700 goes:
• Certified translations and document copies: $130
• Attorney retainer: $1,500
• Court-appointed interpreter and travel: $70
With deep gratitude,
David

Your post was clear and honest. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Thinking of Anaheim.
