Josefin was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in September. The oncology team at Uppsala Cancer Centre has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 7 weeks.
Josefin is 29, worked as a tailor until September, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Uppsala Cancer Centre 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $4,400 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $2,650
• Scans and lab work: $620
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $380
• Household costs while unable to work: $750
