Jose's final semester of a degree in civil engineering in Newcastle
Jose has worked and saved for five years to study a degree in civil engineering; a $3,000 gap now stands between him and graduation.

I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a degree in civil engineering at Newcastle University, and I'm one semester away from graduating. I have worked as a delivery rider to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $3,000.
The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a 3.6 average, and my academic advisor has written in support of my application for a payment plan.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility.
I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $3,000 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $1,150
• Final term tuition: $1,450
• Exam and lab fees: $160
• Textbooks and materials: $240
Thanks for reading all this.

So sorry you're going through this, Jose. Looking forward to the next update. After 18 years in retail I know how hard it is to ask for anything. God bless.
