Johannesburg fire in the informal settlement relief - Orchard village
The fire in the informal settlement damaged 26 homes in Orchard village. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The fire in the informal settlement hit Orchard village on 4 June. My home was one of 26 damaged, and 6 families are still in temporary shelter at the sports club.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $600 goes:
• Clean water and purification supplies: $120
• Tools and labor for repairs: $160
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $320
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

I hope things turn around soon. My neighbor in Sacramento donated after I showed her your page. Thinking of Johannesburg.
Hang in there, Brandon. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. God bless.
Hope you get there. I hope September is when things finally get easier. God bless.
You're not alone, Brandon. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I'll check back for the next update.
