Ximena was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in August. The oncology team at the Townsville Oncology Institute has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 12 weeks. Ximena is 35, worked as a primary school teacher until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Townsville Oncology Institute 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $5,600 goes: • Household costs while unable to work: $1,050 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $3,250 • Transport to the Townsville Oncology Institute: $860 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $440 Please ask me anything in the questions section.
