Wondimu was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in December. The oncology team at Mekelle Cancer Centre has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in March. He will be away from work for about 12 weeks. Wondimu is 54, worked as a farmer until December, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Mekelle Cancer Centre 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
