Help Wanjiru through 12 rounds of treatment for multiple myeloma
Wanjiru is facing multiple myeloma and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
🇰🇪 Kenya588 views
Wanjiru was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in April. The oncology team at Kasarani University Hospital has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in June. She will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Wanjiru is 53, worked as a nurse until April, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Kasarani University Hospital 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $1,300 goes:
• Scans and lab work: $120
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $980
• Household costs while unable to work: $200
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Best of luck. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I hope July is when things finally get easier. Love from Mumbai.
Take care, Kiprop. Hope you get there. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. God bless.
