Tanvir was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in April. The oncology team at New Delhi Cancer Centre has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in July. He will be away from work for about 3 weeks.
Tanvir is 41, worked as a primary school teacher until April, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to New Delhi Cancer Centre 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.

• Household costs while unable to work: $210
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,300
