After eight years of service, Segun is raising funds for a first month of rent and transport to job interviews.

I served eight years in the marines and was discharged in 2023 with a service-related knee injury. I have been waiting seven months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a first month of rent and transport to job interviews. The quote I have comes to $300.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
Money will be paid to the training provider and the landlord directly.
Where the $300 goes:
• Essential household items: $65
• Housing deposit and first month: $180
• Transport to appointments: $55

So sorry you're going through this, Segun. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.
