Help Santiago with residency renewal filing and attorney fees
Help Santiago cover the fees of a residency renewal so He can stay with his family.
🇺🇸 Minnesota, United States1,245 views
Santiago is facing a residency renewal. The hearing is scheduled for October, and the filing fees and the lawyer's retainer come to $3,500. Three legal-aid offices have said their waiting lists are longer than the deadline.
Santiago has all the paperwork ready, and a caseworker at the Duluth Community Legal Centre has confirmed that the case is valid.
If the deadline is missed Santiago could lose the right to stay with the family and the job. The children were born here and this is the only home they know.
Funds cover only the filing fees, translations and attorney retainer.
Where the $3,500 goes:
• Filing and biometrics fees: $620
• Certified translations and document copies: $220
• Attorney retainer: $2,660
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Santiago!
Filing and biometrics fees is $620 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page.
Hope things get better soon. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Wish I lived closer to San Francisco so I could bring a meal. God bless
Best of luck, Angel. Your post was clear and honest.
A colleague of mine might know someone for this in Minnesota. I'll ask around and let you know
Stay strong, Angel. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't give up.
