Reagan was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in May. The oncology team at Sydney Cancer Centre has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in August. She will be away from work for about 12 weeks.
Reagan is 56, worked as a construction supervisor until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Sydney Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $7,250 goes:
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $400
• Scans and lab work: $950
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $5,250
• Transport to Sydney Cancer Centre: $650
