Pratik is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a master's in public health at Mumbai Polytechnic, and is one term away from graduating. He has worked as a warehouse packer to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $750.
The registrar has said Pratik can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Pratik has a 3.8 average, and a professor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Pratik would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Pratik isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Mumbai Polytechnic bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $750 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $490
• Final term tuition: $210
• Exam and lab fees: $50

Best of luck. I hope things turn around soon. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. All the best!
Good luck, Manasi. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Put this on a community board in Tallahassee this morning.
hang in there, Manasi. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. Thinking of Mumbai.

Shared it with a few friends. Wish I lived closer to San Francisco so I could bring a meal.
