Pilar is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a pharmacy diploma at Alcalá de Henares State College, and is one term away from graduating. She has worked as a barista to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $4,550.
The registrar has said Pilar can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Pilar has a 3.8 average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Pilar would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Pilar isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Alcalá de Henares State College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
