Nilmini is facing acute lymphoblastic leukemia and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Nilmini was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in September. The oncology team at Dehiwala Regional Medical Center has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 10 weeks.
Nilmini is 41, worked as a shop owner until September, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Dehiwala Regional Medical Center 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,800 goes:
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $120
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,150
• Transport to Dehiwala Regional Medical Center: $190
• Household costs while unable to work: $340
