Neelam was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in January. The oncology team at Siliguri Cancer Centre has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in April. She will be away from work for about 4 weeks. Neelam is 56, worked as a farmer until January, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Siliguri Cancer Centre 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
