Micah was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in August. The oncology team at Birmingham Regional Medical Center has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in October. He will be away from work for about 3 weeks.
Micah is 49, worked as a bakery worker until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Birmingham Regional Medical Center 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $2,450 goes:
• Household costs while unable to work: $790
• Scans and lab work: $1,250
• Transport to Birmingham Regional Medical Center: $410

Sure. The biggest one is household costs while unable to work, $790. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Thanks, that means a lot.
