In May I was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma. My oncology team at Freiburg Regional Medical Center has planned 4 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in July. I was told to expect about 7 weeks away from work.
I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 56, I worked as a tailor until May, and I have been the main earner for my household.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Freiburg Regional Medical Center 3 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly.
My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.

• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $660
• Transport to Freiburg Regional Medical Center: $1,050
• Household costs while unable to work: $740

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Manfred!
Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team is $660 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Good question.
