Help me pay for valve repair surgery at Istanbul General Hospital
After a large ovarian cyst, Gizem was cleared for valve repair surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

In February I was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst. My surgeon at Istanbul General Hospital recommended valve repair surgery, and I have been placed on the schedule for May. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $1,450, and after what my insurance will pay, I'm still $1,150 short.
Doctors at Istanbul General Hospital told me a large ovarian cyst will get worse without valve repair surgery. I work as a care assistant, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $1,450 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a care assistant have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 7 weeks. I'll not be able to work a full shift during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $1,150 goes:
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $65
• Physiotherapy sessions: $180
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $905
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Thinking of you, Gizem. Shared this with my family. It's not much but it's yours.
Sending strength, Gizem. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Greetings from Salem
