I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a master's in public health at the Ankara Institute of Technology, and I'm one semester away from graduating. I have worked as a night-shift cleaner to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $1,100. The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a 3.8 average, and my professor has written in support of my application for a payment plan. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility. I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student. The payment will go directly to the the Ankara Institute of Technology bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $1,100 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $630 • Final term tuition: $330 • Exam and lab fees: $50 • Textbooks and materials: $90 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

  • Rooting for you, Taner. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. After 28 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from Tallahassee.
