I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a master's in public health at Abuja State College, and I'm one term away from graduating. I have worked as a tutor to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $650. The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a distinction average, and my professor has written in support of my application for a payment plan. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility. I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Abuja State College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $650 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $350 • Final term tuition: $210 • Exam and lab fees: $35 • Textbooks and materials: $55 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Sent it to 13 people at work. Thinking of Abuja.

rooting for you, Hauwa. This could happen to any of us. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. All the best.
