San Francisco
I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a diploma in hospitality management at the San Francisco Institute of Technology, and I'm one semester away from graduating. I have worked as a tutor to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $3,750. The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a 3.8 average, and my faculty supervisor has written in support of my application for a payment plan. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility. I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student. Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees. Where the $3,750 goes: • Final term tuition: $3,250 • Textbooks and materials: $280 • Exam and lab fees: $220 If you're reading this, thank you. - Logan

  • Hope it all works out. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Love from Salerno.

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. final term tuition comes first ($3,250) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Thanks, that means a lot.

      • I hope things turn around soon. Sent it to 5 people at work.
