Help Marlene restart a flower stall in Pretoria after floodwater

Marlene has run a flower stall for three years; floodwater destroyed the equipment, and $850 will put it back on its feet.

Pretoria
For three years I have run a flower stall in Pretoria. In May, floodwater took display cabinets and a cooler. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Sunday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 3 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go. Where the $850 goes: • Initial stock: seasonal flowers: $240 • Replacing display cabinets and a cooler: $530 • Working capital for the first month: $80 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

is initial stock: seasonal flowers the biggest cost or is there more coming?

    • Marlene J. Du PlessisOwnerAnswer

Sure. The biggest one is initial stock: seasonal flowers, $240. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Fair thing to want to know.

Sending love, Marlene. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Blessings.

Small businesses are the heart of Pretoria. Hope you're open again soon. My neighbor in Nsukka donated after I showed her your page.
