Help Madhu restart a tailoring shop in Jaipur after a storm that collapsed the roof

Madhu has run a tailoring shop for nine years; a storm that collapsed the roof destroyed the equipment, and $500 will put it back on its feet.

For nine years I have run a tailoring shop in Jaipur. In October, a storm that collapsed the roof took three industrial sewing machines. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Thursday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 7 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go. Where the $500 goes: • Shop repairs and licensing: $65 • Replacing three industrial sewing machines: $370 • Working capital for the first month: $65 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Praying for you, Madhu. This could happen to any of us. I have a 9 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Take care.
