Help Luciana restart a laundry service in Rio de Janeiro after floodwater
A laundry service in Rio de Janeiro needs help replacing two washing machines and a dryer after floodwater.
🇧🇷 Brazil1,645 views
For four years I have run a laundry service in Rio de Janeiro. In August, floodwater took two washing machines and a dryer. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Sunday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 5 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $950 goes:
• Working capital for the first month: $220
• Replacing two washing machines and a dryer: $530
• Initial stock: detergent and packaging: $200
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Love from San Jose.
Thinking of you, Luciana. Small businesses are the heart of Rio de Janeiro. Hope you're open again soon. I'm in hospitality myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Take care.
