Lourdes is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a diploma in hospitality management at the Manila Institute of Technology, and is two terms away from graduating. She has worked as a tutor to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $1,050. The registrar has said Lourdes can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Lourdes has a 3.6 average, and a professor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Lourdes would lose her place and scholarship eligibility. Lourdes isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student. The payment will go directly to the the Manila Institute of Technology bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $1,050 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $420 • Final term tuition: $510 • Exam and lab fees: $50 • Textbooks and materials: $70 Every share and every dollar helps.

Updates from Christian

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($403 in total) I met with the university and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
