Help Leo pay for emergency hernia repair at Philadelphia Orthopedic Institute
Leo needs emergency hernia repair at Philadelphia Orthopedic Institute and the family is $3,300 short of the hospital's estimate.

Leo was diagnosed with an aortic valve defect in July. The surgeon at Philadelphia Orthopedic Institute recommended emergency hernia repair, and He is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $5,500, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $3,300 short.
my husband has been in and out of Philadelphia Orthopedic Institute since July. The doctors say an aortic valve defect will get worse without emergency hernia repair. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $5,500 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Leo struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Leo won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $3,300 goes:
• Hospital stay (4 nights): $2,250
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $630
• Travel and lodging for the family: $420
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
