Leah was diagnosed with cervical cancer in March. The oncology team at the San Diego Oncology Institute has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in July. She will be away from work for about 7 weeks. Leah is 51, worked as a nurse until March, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the San Diego Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $10,900 goes: • Transport to the San Diego Oncology Institute: $1,000 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $8,000 • Household costs while unable to work: $1,100 • Scans and lab work: $800 Glad we found this place.
