Lavanya was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in December. The oncology team at the Coimbatore Oncology Institute has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in February. She will be away from work for about 12 weeks. Lavanya is 48, worked as a bank teller until December, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Coimbatore Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $600 goes: • Transport to the Coimbatore Oncology Institute: $105 • Scans and lab work: $195 • Household costs while unable to work: $300 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people. - Dhanush
