Ki-tae was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc in July. The surgeon at Saint Catherine Hospital recommended septoplasty, and He is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,600, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $800 short.
my son has been in and out of Saint Catherine Hospital since July. The doctors say a herniated spinal disc will get worse without septoplasty. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,600 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Ki-tae struggles with daily life and can't drive. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Ki-tae won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
