Kato is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a master's in public health at the Kisumu Institute of Technology, and is one semester away from graduating. He has worked as a delivery rider to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $950. The registrar has said Kato can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Kato has a 3.6 average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Kato would lose his place and scholarship eligibility. Kato isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student. The payment will go directly to the the Kisumu Institute of Technology bursar's office.
