Karina was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in July. The oncology team at Córdoba Cancer Centre has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 5 weeks.
Karina is 24, worked as a shop owner until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Córdoba Cancer Centre 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $4,700 goes:
• Transport to Córdoba Cancer Centre: $420
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $280
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,200
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $2,800
