Howard was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in July. The oncology team at San Jose Cancer Centre has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 8 weeks.
Howard is 29, worked as a farmer until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to San Jose Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $6,650 goes:
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,900
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $2,950
• Scans and lab work: $870
• Transport to San Jose Cancer Centre: $930
