Emi is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a degree in civil engineering at the Shinjuku Institute of Technology, and is one term away from graduating. She has worked as a shop assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $4,350. The registrar has said Emi can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Emi has a 3.6 average, and a professor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Emi would lose her place and scholarship eligibility. Emi isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student. The payment will go directly to the the Shinjuku Institute of Technology bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $4,350 goes: • Final term tuition: $2,750 • Outstanding tuition balance: $1,450 • Exam and lab fees: $150 Thank you for reading my story. - Megumi
