Help Dominique get back to civilian life: housing deposit and training

Dominique served twelve years in the air force; $3,200 would cover a deposit on a one-bedroom apartment.

I served twelve years in the air force and was discharged in 2025 with chronic tinnitus. I have been waiting eleven months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place. I have a plan: a deposit on a one-bedroom apartment. The quote I have comes to $3,200. I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces. I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing. I'll post invoices, with personal details hidden. Where the $3,200 goes: • Essential household items: $430 • Training provider fees: $1,600 • Housing deposit and first month: $1,170 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot. - Dominique

Updates from Dominique

  1. Update from Ottawa: I made the first payment toward training provider fees. We're at 4% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($115 in total) I met with the provider and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  3. Quick update: $90 raised so far (3%). I met with the provider and confirmed the amounts. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
