Help Dieter pay for septoplasty at Berlin University Hospital
After a cleft palate needing repair, Dieter was cleared for septoplasty, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Dieter was diagnosed with a cleft palate needing repair in October. The surgeon at Berlin University Hospital recommended septoplasty, and He is scheduled for January. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $7,250, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $5,850 short.
my son has been in and out of Berlin University Hospital since October. The doctors say a cleft palate needing repair will get worse without septoplasty. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $7,250 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Dieter struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Dieter won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
Where the $5,850 goes:
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $490
• Physiotherapy sessions: $280
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $2,100
• Travel and lodging for the family: $190
• Hospital stay (3 nights): $2,790
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

can I help in a way that isn't money? I'm near Berlin!
Thank you. If you're in Berlin I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Happy to explain more.
So sorry you're going through this, Ludwig. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Thinking of Berlin
Stay strong. Hope this works out for you. I hope January is when things finally get easier. God bless.
is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Dieter.
Sure. The biggest one is pre-operative tests and imaging, $490. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one.
Sending good thoughts, Ludwig. Your post was clear and honest.
You're not alone, Ludwig. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Wish I lived closer to Strasbourg so I could bring a meal. All the best.
Hope you get there. Wish I lived closer to Aurangabad so I could bring a meal. Thinking of Berlin.
