Help Chiamaka through 8 rounds of treatment for a rare sarcoma
8 rounds of treatment are planned at Lagos University Hospital; we are asking for help with the costs insurance does not cover.
🇳🇬 Nigeria938 views
Chiamaka was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in April. The oncology team at Lagos University Hospital has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in June. She will be away from work for about 5 weeks.
Chiamaka is 52, worked as a taxi driver until April, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Lagos University Hospital 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $950 goes:
• Transport to Lagos University Hospital: $100
• Household costs while unable to work: $155
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $510
• Scans and lab work: $185
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

Looking forward to the next update. Put this on a community board in Uberlândia this morning. Blessings
is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Chiamaka.
Thinking of you. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Sent it to 15 people at work
Keep going, Nonso. Your post was clear and honest. I'll check back for the next update.
Keep going, Nonso. Hope you get there. I hope July is when things finally get easier. Thinking of Lagos.
Rooting for you, Nonso. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Blessings.
Thanks for sharing this, Nonso. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Uberlândia
