For nine years I have run a tailoring shop in Ikeja. In June, a storm that collapsed the roof took three industrial sewing machines. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Monday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 8 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $250 goes:
• Working capital for the first month: $70
• Initial stock: fabric and thread: $85
• Shop repairs and licensing: $95
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Bello.
It's all in the list in the story. working capital for the first month is the big one at $70, I'll post a receipt when it's paid.
Best of luck, Bello. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My mother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
