Ayu is facing thyroid cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Ayu was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in August. The oncology team at the Jakarta Oncology Institute has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 3 weeks. Ayu is 39, worked as a bakery worker until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Jakarta Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $400 goes: • Household costs while unable to work: $195 • Transport to the Jakarta Oncology Institute: $150 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $55 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
