Ayu was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in the right knee in July. The surgeon at Jakarta Orthopedic Institute recommended a craniotomy, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $210, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $150 short. my daughter has been in and out of Jakarta Orthopedic Institute since July. The doctors say osteoarthritis in the right knee will get worse without a craniotomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $210 is more than we can find. While we wait, Ayu struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
