For nine years I have run a bicycle repair shop in Kampala. In July, a fire in the building took a full set of tools. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Thursday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 7 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go. Where the $500 goes: • Replacing a full set of tools: $310 • Initial stock: spare parts: $50 • Shop repairs and licensing: $80 • Working capital for the first month: $60 If you're reading this, thank you.

Updates from Athumani

  1. Quick update: $31 raised so far (6%). the plan for replacing a full set of tools is now scheduled. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  2. Thank you all. We're at 4% now ($21). I'm honestly stunned. we've started the first stage.
