Alexa is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a pharmacy diploma at San Jose State College, and is one term away from graduating. She has worked as a warehouse packer to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $2,550.
The registrar has said Alexa can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Alexa has a first-class average, and a professor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Alexa would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Alexa isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the San Jose State College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $2,550 goes:
• Final term tuition: $2,000
• Textbooks and materials: $340
• Exam and lab fees: $210
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

You're not alone. I hope things turn around soon. I hope November is when things finally get easier. Love from Boulogne-Billancourt!
Rooting for you. This could happen to any of us. After 30 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
