Akosua was diagnosed with cervical cancer in May. The oncology team at Accra Cancer Centre has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in August. She will be away from work for about 8 weeks. Akosua is 53, worked as a bank teller until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Accra Cancer Centre 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $1,800 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,400 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $120 • Household costs while unable to work: $280 Thank you for reading my story.

Updates from Nathaniel

  1. Quick update: $180 raised so far (10%). we've started the first stage. Receipts coming as soon as I have them. - Nathaniel

  2. Thank you all. We're at 6% now ($105). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward chemotherapy and medication not covered.
