Abril was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc in June. The surgeon at Alicante Regional Medical Center recommended valve repair surgery, and She is scheduled for August. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $6,250, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $3,750 short.
my sister has been in and out of Alicante Regional Medical Center since June. The doctors say a herniated spinal disc will get worse without valve repair surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $6,250 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Abril struggles with daily life and can't drive. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Abril won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
