La Plata
I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a diploma in hospitality management at La Plata Polytechnic, and I'm one term away from graduating. I have worked as a barista to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $1,150. The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a 3.6 average, and my faculty supervisor has written in support of my application for a payment plan. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility. I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student. The payment will go directly to the La Plata Polytechnic bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $1,150 goes: • Textbooks and materials: $95 • Final term tuition: $720 • Outstanding tuition balance: $335 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Updates from Gustavo

  1. Thank you all. We're at 20% now ($235). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward final term tuition.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($50 in total) I met with the university and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
