Get Ssebuliba back on the road: my pickup repair fund

Without my pickup Ssebuliba can't work; a $200 repair would put him back on the road.

I make my living with my pickup. 6 weeks ago the suspension failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $200. Without the vehicle I earn nothing. I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask. I support my wife and our newborn. Before the breakdown I worked nine hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next four months if I can just get the vehicle working. I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here. All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal. Where the $200 goes: β€’ suspension replacement (parts): $95 β€’ Labor charges: $45 β€’ Road tax and insurance renewal: $55 β€’ Towing and inspection: $5 Thank you for reading my story.

  1. Thank you all. We're at 23% now ($45). I'm honestly stunned. I met with the mechanic and confirmed the amounts.

  2. Thank you all. We're at 23% now ($45). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward suspension replacement.

  3. Update from Kisumu: we've started the first stage. We're at 13% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

Hope it all works out, Ssebuliba. Gave what I could, wish it was more. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like

      • Wishing you the best, Ssebuliba. It takes guts to ask. Well done. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Thinking of Kisumu.
