I make my living with my ride-share car. 6 weeks ago the gearbox failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $1,900. Without the vehicle I earn nothing. I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask. I support my two daughters and my mother. Before the breakdown I worked twelve hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next three months if I can just get the vehicle working. I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here. I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update. Where the $1,900 goes: • Towing and inspection: $190 • Road tax and insurance renewal: $210 • gearbox replacement (parts): $1,500 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
