I make my living with my ride-share car. 7 weeks ago the fuel pump failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $1,300. Without the vehicle I earn nothing. I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask. I support my wife and our newborn. Before the breakdown I worked twelve hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next three months if I can just get the vehicle working. I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here. I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update. Where the $1,300 goes: • fuel pump replacement (parts): $690 • Labor charges: $360 • Road tax and insurance renewal: $195 • Towing and inspection: $55 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Thank you. If you're in Kilkenny I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Fair thing to want to know.

  • Hope things get better soon. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Greetings from Bogotá.

    • Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Rory

      • Rory W. CaseyOwnerAnswerPhoto verified

Sure. The biggest one is fuel pump replacement (parts), $690. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one.
