Get Kweku back on the road: my food truck repair fund
Kweku's my food truck is Kweku's only source of income and needs an engine head gasket replacement costing $255.

I make my living with my food truck. 4 weeks ago the engine head gasket failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $255. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my younger brothers and sisters. Before the breakdown I worked nine hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next four months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal.
Where the $255 goes:
• engine head gasket replacement (parts): $180
• Labor charges: $50
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $20
• Towing and inspection: $5
Thank you for reading my story.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Kweku!
Engine head gasket replacement (parts) is $180 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. I'll keep the page updated.
gave what I could, wish it was more. I have a 12 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Thinking of Tema.

how is Kweku doing now?
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't give up. Thinking of Tema.
Is there anything that isn't money that would help Kweku?
Thank you. If you're in Tema I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. It helps to be asked.
Thinking of you, Kweku. Hope the shop reopens soon.
Your post was clear and honest. After 15 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
Rooting for you, Kweku. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. I'm in teaching myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. All the best.

Small businesses are the heart of Tema. Hope you're open again soon. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Greetings from Nnewi.
