Get Emma back on the road: my tuk-tuk repair fund
Emma's my tuk-tuk is Emma's only source of income and needs a clutch assembly replacement costing $1,800.
🇨🇦 Laval, Quebec, Canada1,702 views
I make my living with my tuk-tuk. 12 weeks ago the clutch assembly failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $1,800. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my wife and our newborn. Before the breakdown I worked eleven hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next three months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update.
Where the $1,800 goes:
• clutch assembly replacement (parts): $1,050
• Labor charges: $310
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $330
• Towing and inspection: $110
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Hope it all works out, Emma. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I'm in public service myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. All the best
stay strong. Shared this with my family. Put this on a community board in Gwangju this morning. All the best
Good luck, Emma. I hope things turn around soon. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day.
Praying for you, Emma. Hope you get there. Wish I lived closer to Thủ Đức so I could bring a meal. God bless.
Stay strong, Emma. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I went through something like this 10 years ago and strangers helped me out. Love from Rome!
